Moose Hunting
Moose Hunting
Enjoy a remote moose hunting experience — a total escape into the secluded wilderness. This area is very isolated with no roads, no hunting pressure from hunters or other lodges, and has a proven success history. The floatplane fly-in trip to our remote lodge, the daily plans and conversation about the hunt, the thrill of spotting a moose, and the triumphant return of the hunters with their trophy are all part of your great Birch Bark Lodge hunting adventure. Just bring your gear, weapon of choice and spend a week chasing the trophy of a lifetime.

Due to the thick-wooded terrain it’s practically un-huntable by foot, most guests hunt exclusively by boat. This kind of hunt is really exciting, as you navigate miles and miles of Lake Wigwascense’s shoreline, islands, river and creek edges, trying to catch moose coming to the water. Part of the program is stopping in prime moose-looking areas to give rutting moose a cow or bull call. The goal, of course, is to get them to call back and convince them to come running. The hopes of an emerging giant from every dark clump of brush and river corner keeps your adrenaline on high alert and your heart pumping all day!

Whether you are looking for the thrill and satisfaction of discovering your adventure in an unguided hunt or are looking for a guided hunt that includes calling and dressing the animal, at Birch Bark Lodge you will experience one of the most incredible big game hunts in North America. We offer exceptional value and can accommodate smaller groups. In late September, the seven-day hunts include flight in and out of our remote lodge, meals, all boats, motors, gas and full use of lodge and facilities. A great bonus to moose hunting on such prime fishing water is to throw a couple of rods in the boat. Where else can you hunt for moose and reel in walleye at the same time?
